Detailed Steps on how to Apply SNEAKERGUARD Sole Shields

These are the steps that I personally take when I apply them on my sneakers. This may not be the best way but it is the one I am most comfortable with. Please take this advice with a pinch of salt and feel free to adjust the steps.

STEP 1 - CLEAN YOUR SOLES

This has got to be the most important step in the whole process. If the sole is dirty with water and dirt, the adhesive on the Sole Shields will NOT be effective and will cause the Sole Shields to peel off within 1 or 2 wears.

I would recommend to clean with water, and scrub off all dirt/stain off your shoes. Once cleaned and dry, use the provided alcohol swabs to disinfect the sole of your shoes.

STEP 2 - CUT AN OUTLINE

Place the shoe on the back of the Sole Shields (paper material side) and trace an outline of the shoe's sole. I would recommend cutting an outline that is bigger than the sole. Do not try to be exact, if you make a mistake, you are not able to undo it. If you cut an outline that is bigger, you can always trim it again at a later stage.

If you purchase SNEAKERGUARD Sole Shields, we will provide you with a set of curved scissors for easy cutting. It's small size and curved blades makes it easy to trim an outline.

STEP 3 - CHECK YOUR OUTLINE

Once the outline is cut, please check and ensure you are satisfied with it.

STEP 4 - APPLY THE SOLE SHIELDS TO THE SOLES OF YOUR SNEAKERS

Remove the paper backing. Carefully position the protector onto the sole of your sneaker and press down firmly. Remove and reapply with necessary.

Once applied, please trim any excess Sole Shields if necessary. Once aligned, smooth our and firmly press repeatedly to ensure proper seal and coverage.

STEP 5 - USE A HEAT SOURCE

You can either use a Heat Gun or a Hair-Dryer to give some Sole Shields some added flexibility and make sealing easier. Pay attention to the edges to ensure proper sealing.

PRO TIP - Always trim a bigger outline. I can't stress how important this is. I wasted almost 2-3 sets of SOLE SHIELDS before this became obvious to me. Don't make my mistake!
