Shoelaces are often supplied to fit a certain number of eyelets. The most common number of eyelets are around 5-7 pairs of eyelets. If you don't know what eyelets are, it's the holes that you stick your shoelaces in. I copied a table below from www.fieggen.com to ROUGHLY assist my customers in estimating the required length as shoes can vary.  First, you need to determine the type of horizontal spacings you have across your shoes. Is it narrow, medium or wide? Examples are provided in the table to help you. Then check how many pairs of eyelets do you ACTUALLY USE....
